I dunno...baseline competence levels for math, reading, and writing should be put in place. When you have people in real life who can't add two-digit numbers in their heads, there's a problem.

You mean like current public schools' products? Don't they have some sort of baseline competence levels for math, reading, and writing? Don't they keep decreasing because they're not being met, and aren't they being taught to, instead of being a general metric of baseline accomplishment?

We've got stuff like the ACT and SAT. That should be enough.
