If I were king of the United States, I would do the following:
- Completely shut down the southern border. We'd start with an tripple razor wire fence - 15' tall and electrified, of course. Say, one of each of the three fences over a 150 yard area. On either side of the middle fence we would have a trench. Between the first two fences we would put anti-personnel mines. Between the second and third fences we would create an "animal sanctuary" where we put endangered species like short-haired German shepherds or dobermans.
- Deport all illegal aliens. They can get back in the legal way, like everyone else has to. They're pretty much indicating their intent in our country by breaking the law as their first act of residence.
- Make it known that laws against treason will be enforced.
- Arrest and execute members of the "media" and federal government who continue to commit treason.
- Disband the Department of Education and instigate universal education vouchers for every child - use them where you want, provided it's on a "registered" school (just a name on a list, no significant qualifications).
- Disband the BATFE and prosecute its members for treason and attempted circumvention of the United States Bill of Rights.
- Arrest the foundational members and funding partners of the ACLU for communist activities and attempting to undermine our Constitution.
- Reorganize the Department of Defense into two smaller departments: Dept. of War and the Dept. of Defense. Dept. of War.
- Change the classification of the National Guard to the Armed Force Reserves, which would operate under the Dept of War.
- Create formal State Militias, only for the operation within the United States, and independent state-run authority. The requirements for each would also be set by the state. Participation would be mandatory by all able-bodied people who want to retain voting and other civil rights. Roles would constitute all current "civil service", not just warfare, and it would operate in conjunction with the Dept. of Defense.
- Get rid of "Social Security" and other government-funded assistance. Provide health care for people who have already put into SS by the amount they've put in (at inflationary levels), or for the elderly. (More elaboration would need to be done, but that's the sum of it.)
- Make other reductions in federal agencies so as to decrease the burden of the government from the people.
- Supplement the current writings of the Constitution and Bill of Rights with the "intent" writings of our founding fathers, so that each Amendment is clear in intent and provide maximum liberty.
- Require that all federal and state legislation must be written in common language. All bills must be written on a single page of common paper, and can only contain a single measure or change to the current law.
- All supplementary federal regulations and laws to the Constitution expire after 5 years automatically and can not be renewed unless ratified by 2/3rds of the population through a direct vote.
- All politicians are limited in maximum term length, spending no more than a total of 5 years in Federal office and 8 in State office.
- The classification of "felon" and "misdemeanor" will be redefined. Felonies will only be applicable to crimes of aggravated violence or property damage or theft which can not be reasonably repaid within 5 years by the person committing the crime, with two degrees of felony (the 1st degree resulting in the death penalty and the 2nd degree being a crime of slightly less grievance allowing for 3-strikes). Third-time offenders of misdemeanor or felony crimes will be sentenced to life in prison.
Roll back all laws since 1860 and strike all laws which are no longer applicable from the record.
I imagine this process would take at least 15 years of aggressive reform to implement. Once it were completed, I'd allow the government to revert to the Constitutional democratic democracy which our country was based on.
I've thought these all through, though it might not be immediately clear above. If anyone thinks I'm nuts on a specific item, ask and I'll explain my thought process.
