The oddities of international shipping...

Jun 02, 2005 00:05

Since I can't get to Will's site (or indeed William) this will have to substitute.

Here is perhaps the weirdest package tracking data I've ever seen:

May 31, 2005
7:49 P.M. - ASCOT VALE, VIC, AU - ORIGIN SCAN

7:14 P.M. - ASCOT VALE, VIC, AU - ORIGIN SCAN

11:31 A.M. - ASCOT VALE, VIC, AU - PICKUP SCAN

8:42 A.M. - AU - BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

8:28 A.M. - ONTARIO, CA, US - REGISTERED WITH CLEARING AGENCY;SHIPMENT SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY

8:13 A.M. - ONTARIO, CA, US - REGISTERED WITH CLEARING AGENCY;SHIPMENT SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY

That's right folks, apparently "1988" arrived in Ontario half an hour before UPS even charged our credit card for the cost of shipping. Now THAT'S what Brown can do for You :)

(Yes, I know it's because it was shipped across the international date line overnight, because it's exactly what happened to me when I first when to the US; I left on 12/26 in the evening and landed at 9am on 12/26. Was bizarre.)

While I'm at it, make sure you all go see "1988" on Friday. It rocks (I should know, I spent 27 hours in 7 days working on the damn thing :D)
