Laura gets a lot of love today.
Ok, perhaps I ought to start from the beginning. My alarm went off at 10:30, and then Scott called me at 10:45. I still was not moving from bed at that point, and the fact that I even heard my phone go off was a stroke of luck for him. It was on vibrate and across the room. I somehow got roped into waking Dave and Murray, to invite them to indian food. And, eventually, around 11:45 or so, Scott, Ashok, Murray, and I were on the campus shuttle downtown.
We ate buffet style for under $10 apiece. And it was good. Mrrr. So good.
Got back to campus at about 13:45, after having wandered the Quarter for a while, started my laundry, and not 15 minutes later I got a call from Laura, asking whether I wanted to join her for fudge ice cream. How she knew that was one of my weaknesses, I don't know, but gods. *purr* She gets a lot of love for that. I helped her with her poster, which she had to put together for a conference in Arizona that she's going to this weekend, and then, she ended up giving me an idea for a job with a research journal, and the seed of an idea for a kickass senior research project, if I can just talk the various departments it would involve into letting me do it. I have to do some research, and then try to formulate a more defined idea, but as of right now, all I know is that it will involve the testing of polymer materials for use in implants. Somehow. And in a way that will allow me to pull in Ashok (for his knowledge of chemistry) and Laura (for her connections to the physics department). But all of that will have to wait til after finals are over, and I have time to look into this in more detail.
♥♥♥
Later, around 18:30, I grabbed a quick dinner with Ashok, Scott and Wick, and then came back here to continue working on material science homework. Did that for a couple of hours, and then started writing this to take a mental break. I'll go back to working in a few minutes. With any luck I'll be able to finish this homework tonight, and then also get started on the Math modeling, and study a little bit for the Japanese quiz. *sigh* So much work. Guh.
If I'm still alive enough later, I may try to organise a trip to Z'otz, but right now it doesn't look too likely.
We shall see. Wish me luck.
