I few years ago saw a post on LJ that suggested an interesting tradition for anniversaries: For each year that you are married, post one thing that you love about your spouse. We were married in 1985, so this year marks year Nº 25:

1. I love that she keeps her head in a crisis.


2. I love that she knows how to calm me down when I start panicking.

Well, my wife’s party was a success. She didn’t have to lift a finger; ixixlix and I (and ellipticcurve, who made the cake) took care of everything behind the scenes, so she could enjoy her birthday with her guests.

Last week, I did something uncharacteristic. I’m doing it again, for my wife’s birthday.

That’s right. I’m (well, we’re, as ixixlix is an accomplice) throwing her a party, for a group of her close friends. We’re having it catered by a local Persian restaurant she likes (instead of doing the cheaper Costco route). We had a professional cleaning crew come ( Read more... )

Last night, I wrote how gf_guruilla was having cataract surgery. I’m pleased to report that we’re back, and it all went well. GFG says she can see better out of that eye than she has for years.

This is sort of a status update; sort of a various and sundry post. No, you don’t get my sparkling wit--I’m too tired, and I think I left my wit in my other pants pocket. Today, I’m at wits end. No, that’s not right...

My wife’s response: “Yup”.
