I just received email that the bulk of a recent Amazon order (2 books and 9 CDs) was returned to them as undeliverable by the USPS. Note that this is the same USPS that successfully delivered all the other 10 parts of the order... to the same address. As this order was partially on gift certificate, and there was no indication of that information ( Read more... )

An update on my earlier entry. We just finished eating dinner after our adventure with ellipticcurve at Ikea. Suffice it to say that we learned that Ikea (at least the Ikea in Burbank, California) does not believe in customer service. If an item was not self-service (i.e., most of their larger items), the wait to pick up the item was 4-5 HOURS. Yup. That's ( Read more... )

Back in February, my wife purchased some merchandise (over $300!) for our Temple gift shop, and paid for it on our credit card. When the merchandise arrived at the Temple office, they didn't notice it had been prepaid, and paid for it again—by check, which has already cleared. Honest mistake, which we get to clean up.
