The smoke alarm in this apartment does nothing.

There were actual flames bout half a foot high and everything this time. I had to beat it out with a damp dish towel. Masses of black smoke everywhere. No real damage though.

What's saddest about this is I was only trying to boil water for tea.

Note to self. When cooking bratwurst, remember to poke holes in them with a fork before they've been in boiling water for fifteen-twenty-forty-dunno minutes.
