Joss defined "bastard" before Kripke came along... In fact, this is a classic case of being Jossed (surely you've heard of it?). In retrospect it's so obvious! Typical hero/villain backstory, death of the one true love, innit?
I just got a chance to watch part 2 and 3 and recalled you meta'd and came to read. Of course, your meta is wonderful and I never even thought of it that way so I must be the dense one. Heehee. And wow, depressing ending much? I was not obsessed with the Buffyverse while it was in its heyday but I did watch itat the end so I knew about "being Joss'd" and that seemed like a typical ending but I still didn't like it. I pray Kripke has more pity on us for the *sniff* "end" of SPN someday.
Kripke damn well better. It's absolutely possible to go out in a blaze of glory and still drive off together into the sunset without driving off a cliff or some such. :-P
I want there to be a part two to Dr. Horrible where everything gets fixed.

Ohhhh yes the man is a bastard. I did know that from watching Buffy and Angel..but still. Grrr. There damn well better be a sequel! Stringing up sounds pretty good to me;)

Aside from watching Serenity, I really haven't watched any of his other stuff, so yeah. This was a crash course in 'Joss Whedon is a bastard'. And yes. Stringing up by the ears until he writes the second half. Or a series. *nods*

Joss really likes to make it HURT. I shouldn't have been surprised, after various painful happenings on Buffy & Angel, not to mention what he did in Serenity, but he did catch me off guard. Poor Dr. Horrible.
