[Three of them] First discovery: If I have something approximating the ingredients I can make a batch of cookies (well, a batch of cookie, singular, since this batch also amoeba'd like a previous impulse batch did) with no recipe at all in about half an hour.
Second discovery: Trying to get said cookies to 'firm up' from hot oozy goo into a solid of some kind by turning the broiling element up to high is not a good plan, especially when I subsequently turn around, get distracted and forget to set a timer.
Third discovery: The smoke alarm in this apartment doesn't work. At all. No flames, but a LOT of smoke, and not a peep from it. I should probably do something about that.
