Random Doctor Who Thoughts

So I watched a bit of the Ninth Doctor yesterday (in the process of trying to catalog the episodes of Doctor Who I have on far too many random VHS tapes) and one little thing really leapt out at me in light of the most recent Doctor Who.

Firstly, some minor things about Jack.

-In "The Long Game" one of the background stories is about the Face of Boe being pregnant. We know who that's supposed to be, right? Wonder if that's going to come back at some point in time, possibly in Torchwood?

-In "The Doctor Dances", Jack is running a con involving selling something that subsequently gets destroyed in a known explosion. He implies he's done this sort of thing before and specifically mentions Pompeii. Would have been quite nifty to have him randomly show up in the background while the Doctor and Donna were there. (I think you might have said something about that when we saw the first part of Series 4, lurkingwombat.)

Now, the thing that really leapt out at me.

In "The Doctor Dances" when they're discussing how Jamie was turned into the little gas-masked roving nightmare-fodder, there is a discussion. The Doctor says: "There isn't a little boy born who wouldn't tear the world apart to save his mummy."

Now. Jumping forward to the second part of the End of Time. The woman who looks at the Doctor from behind Rassilon.

'Mummy' perhaps? Which might make implications as to exactly who did what to Gallifrey, and why?

This has probably been observed by other people. I seem to be out of brain, or I'd ponder more on it.

Also while I'm at it...

In End of Time, the cult of the Master has a ritual/recipe/formula for bringing a Time Lord back into existence with something that might be an equivalent to a Chameleon Arch fob watch and a biometric signature. Sooooo.... plot device on the wall for future usage?

Back to slogging through the VHS.
