teachers.. ehh more like hired employees. They do not teach. They get told what to do, if they don't they get fired.
If you don't pick up the math material as fast as the 'ass kisser' or 'pressured by my parents to get an A or I get a beating from daddy' kid, well too damn bad for you then-that is how the school system is here.
If your in california, they now have the Exit exam crap.
They give a test on English and math.
The english is (to me) at the level of a 3rd grader for the most part.
THey give a question like " What would you do if you had a magic pony", okay..?? WTF?
Then they have you write a 1-3 page essay for you to answer the question, and they insisted on you fill up all pages given. (beyond ridiculous).
Then they throw in a few high school level spelling questions, like which word is misspelt. I am sure alot of people can just look at the word and know that there was hardly any real thinking with that.
For the math, it is a mix of grade school math like adding 10 plus 2 .
Then some basic graphing questions, then the rest of the test for the mostpart is a mix of college level math, math the school doesn't teach unless your a senior (12th grade) and taking the highest level math class your school even ofers-that is if they offer it at all. Math like statistics, high-level algebra, equation graphing... most classes I never took or would have had time to take in 4 years of school.
Then back to the exam- The california school system is totally messed up, they really expect everyone to learn at the same level and pace. They told my class like 6 months before the first round of tests that we had to pass or not 'walk'/ graduate and get the diploma-the same diploma you would have gotten 1 year before -just if you passed all your classes. Once again to learn all of the material they want you to fully know and learn is close to impossible for everyone to learn in 4 years.
The stress of the test caused some of my friends to drop out due to thinking 'well I will never pass english or math'-so they just got jobs and started making money.
California is the ONLY STATE out of 50 that is requiring a exit exam.
California also has a policy they created called 'No child left behind' -what a load of Bs that is.
Ya No child left behind..wonder why? They only kick your butt out of there school if you fail a class-so your not there schools' problem, your either droppoing out or try again at home with homeschool.
Everyone that is a freshman becomes a sophmore, all the sophmores become juniors, all the juniors become seniors.. Then well the Seniors..if you pass the exit test you move right along, if you don't you prob. already dropped out-so ya no one left behind... Hmmmmm?? Really though???
