Watch out! The stupid people are invading!
Why do people not listen! Parents and children alike have flooded the bookstore for the past few weeks buying text books and we tell them "don't write in your books and keep your receipt!" They nod and smile like they are listening and then go home, throw away the bag with the receipt inside and write their child's name in the front, on the cover, or along the bottom pages (usually in big fat permant marker). Then they send their little precious off to school where they discover that they have the wrong book. :( boo fucking hoo...I am sorry they got the wrong book. I'm sorry if we pulled it for them. Yes, that person is a complete idiot and I am very sorry sir/Ms blah blah blah...we tell you while we pull the books, after we pull the books, and at the registar to NOT WRITE IN YOUR BOOKS UNTIL YOU ARE SURE IT IS THE RIGHT BOOK!!!! We STAPLE a BIG ASS green piece of paper to your RECEIPT the says IN BIG BOLD LETTERS.....DO NOT WRITE IN YOUR BOOK IF YOU WANT TO BRING IT BACK FOR A FULL REFUND...THAT INCLUDES NAMES, ETC...Once that name is in that book it is no longer MY PROBLEM that it is the wrong book. And yet stupid little high schoolers and pissed off moms show up and make my life hell for nine hours every day. They beg and yell and blame me for their stupidity and shortsightedness. *sigh* :P
