Validation, parts one through ten.

I got lucky, because we're starting with ohimesamamama, who rocks so rockingly that it's hard to put it into words. For starters, she's a clone, and that makes the rocking easy. More importantly, though, she's my best friend. I mean, the best friend. The one I called when my grandmother died. The one who talks you down, and through, and around whatever problems are in your way. She's a wonderful companion, mother, and human being, and when I doubt my self-worth, I remind myself that she loves me, and that means I can't be completely worthless. My rating? Celestial.

And of course, kitanzi doesn't make the rocking any harder to identify, because when it comes to rocking, she's a superstar. We're talking about a smart, funny, engaging, gorgeous woman who can work a sleeveless shawl and a T-shirt with equal flare, is always a shoulder for her friends to cry on, and gives some of the best hugs the world has ever known. There are nigh-countless pictures of me with my head on her shoulder, and there's a damn good reason for that. My rating? Too cool for this kitty, but I get her anyway.

timba probably didn't intend to conquer the world with giant, sentient bat-monkey hybrids, but once it was conquered, she proceeded to rule with grace, flare, and peach cobbler for all. And I'm not just saying that because I fear her army of spies is recording my every move even now. Clever, funny, and with a gracious approach to life that many would do well to emulate, she's the kind of dictator I'd choose even if she didn't have a leather-winged army to do her bidding. My rating? Insectivorous.

Meeting filkerdave was one of those happy accidents, brought about by Interfilk, that has changed the entire direction of certain portions of my life. Thank you, Interfilk. How many people get witty, loving, friendly, affectionate New Yorkers tied up with ribbons and handed to them like the best birthday gifts ever? In the time that I've known him, I've never seen Dave intentionally disappoint a friend, or fail to be a supporting shoulder and a helping hand. My rating? Structural.

When it comes to pitching in and helping out, to the limits of what she thinks she can do, and all the way into the stratospheric reaches of her actual capabilities, it's hard to top deborah_c. She's kind, polite, unassuming, and ready to rock your socks, just as soon as the help you need lies within the realm of 'stuff I (she) can do'. Deborah is a genuine delight both to talk to and to work with, and I recommend doing both. My rating? Handy-dandy.

jazzhandshimmer wants you to think that he's the King of Doom, but he's not. What is he? He's the sort of fun, funny, thoughtful guy who has a meat party at the dinner table, and tolerates phantom hitchhikers dropping themselves into his lap with little to no notice. He's possibly my favourite LARP buddy since Matt, and that's saying something. Patient and polite, I would happily take him with me when I faced the zombie hordes. My rating? Doomilicious.

condotierre never gives up. She may want to -- it may seem like the most appealing thing ever -- but she never quite does. She sticks by her friends, sticks by her guns, and sticks by her ideals. And she sticks by her guppies, for which the guppies are likely to be eternally grateful. My rating? Sticky.

It's genuinely hard to get much cooler than mokatiki, who is the sort of laughing, loving, openly accepting person that can both sing 'I Touch Myself' loudly in a public place, and adopt total strangers on the basis of one late-night coversation in the Middle Ages. Mokatiki is the sort of generous-hearted soul that wears her emotions on her sleeve, shares them, and lets you make of them what you will. I'm better for knowing her. My rating? Touching.

rysmiel is one of those folks that I've met through LJ, who has since become what I would consider to be a very real, concrete, and vital part of my life. Always there with a kind word, an understanding grimace, or just a hug -- usually well-timed in the extreme -- knowing that Rysmiel cares has seen me through some very hard days, and for that reason, if no other (and there are lots of others), Rysmiel rocks. My rating? Compassionate.

And then there is fleetfootmike. If you are very good, and very lucky, you may get someone like this in your life -- someone clever, caring, compassionate, wickedly funny, and willing to hold onto you through good times and bad. But you probably have to be awfully lucky, because someone this talented, loving, and good to be around doesn't come along every day. If they did, the world would be a better place. My rating? Life-changing.
