La la la la Saturday.

I have spent my Saturday with Merav and Jon and Chris and Lilly (who came to Santa Cruz with us) and -- for the last few hours -- a giant mutant dinosaur crocodile that has eaten the better part of a small town in the middle of nowhere. Said small town had a lovely lake, perfectly suited to the storage of giant mutant dinosaur crocodiles. This strikes me as ideal.

Merav, despite never having seen a horror movie in the 'giant mutant genetically engineered thing eats small American town' genre, has proven to be remarkably good at predicting what comes next. I am choosing to view this as clone-synch and not proof that the GMGETESAT genre is predictable, as we all require some small illusions in our lives.

I think that having a four-day horror movie marathon in May is possibly the best idea since dipping Elisha Cuthbert in hot wax and calling it art.

(Chris just accurately called the monsters of the movie which just started as giant killer electric eels, even before they hit the screen. Since Deep Shock is not part of the GMGETESAT genre, but is instead from the 'really big things live under the ocean and most of them want to kill and eat us' genre, this still doesn't prove that GMGETESAT movies are predictable. Just that the RBTLUTOAMOTWTKAEU genre is a trifle narrow in scope.)

Pitting cherries by hand is hard, but deeply worth it. Cherry, blackberry, strawberry, turkey and blue cheese salads are absolutely splendid. A lot of work, but splendid.

Soon we shall sleep, and tomorrow, we shall go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

That is all.

silliness, horror movies, good things, clones
