A few quick notes.

1. Muffins are squishable. If you're carrying an apple-spice muffin to have for breakfast, put it at the top of your lunch sack, not at the bottom. Because while I'm sure that muffin is very friendly and would like to get better acquainted with your microwave dinner and your grape tomatoes, it will come away from that relationship very, very flat. Much like a raccoon making friends with a semi.

2. The cuteness of kittens decreases exponentially before six in the morning. A bored kitten licking you awake at four-thirty? Yeah, that's not cute. That's an excuse for feline football. In other news, Lilly is surprisingly aerodynamic.

3. Aquafina 'naturally flavoured' spring water actually did achieve its purpose in life: it made me drink more water, largely to get the god-awful taste of what claimed to be 'wild berry' out of my mouth. Look, they call the stuff a water beverage. How naturally flavoured is it really, if they have to call it a water beverage? It was like sucking pure evil, straight out of the bottle. I am never doing that again.

4. We have hit that lovely time of year when Concord slowly becomes too hot for thinking creatures. Last night, it was too hot to go to sleep, despite my being physically exhausted. I eventually slept in the bathtub for half the night, and that helped a lot.

5. Nothing says 'I work in a relaxed environment' like wearing a lace-trimmed pink tanktop with leopard spots on it to your place of business. According to one Concord notable (who helpfully shouted this to me from his truck window), I look like a New Jersey hooker. I am choosing to take this as a compliment.

Now we must rinse.
