Cool things about the last four days.

The last four days -- the weekend, plus two days taken off work for the sake of spending actual time with my actual kitten -- have had a lot of astonishingly good things about them. I will now express a few of those, rather than whinging about how tired I am:

* Lilly. She's starting to loosen up about the fact that there are people and those people move around; she's adopted my couch as her official 'safe space', and ducks between the side of it and the dresser when things startle her, watching them with biiiiiig blue eyes. She plays with her feather toy! The stretching and the batting and the leaping are just too cute for words. She has a purr like an outboard motor, and has adopted my Stitch dolly as her own.

* Birthday Ponies. They've put out a set of twelve special 'Birthday Ponies' -- My Little Ponies with the colours and birthstones of each of the months, done in a variety of appealing but nonsensical colours. Chris and I hit the Toys R Us last night, and we found six of them. So I only have six more to go, and I'll have the lot. (I also got Ponies for several people with recent or upcoming birthdays who I know will appreciate a plastic horse with their birthstone on its butt. Because I'm simple that way, sometimes.)

* Outback. Chris and I also went to Outback last night, because I was feeling fuzzy with what I suspected was a lack of iron. It...was a lack of iron. I don't think I've ever eaten a steak that fast, and the leftovers served me as a lovely breakfast. Yum.

* Berkeley. Sunday afternoon turned into roving Telegraph Avenue and doing the traditional Berkeley CD crawl with Jeanne, Michael, and Jeanne's newly-arrived friend, Beth. I haven't seen Michael in months and months, so getting the chance to spend actual time with him was wonderful. Beth is very sweet, and it was fun to meet her, and of course, Jeanne is a glorious addition to any social situation.

* Wicked. Confirming the tour dates for Wicked in San Francisco? Yeah, that rules.

* Veronica Mars. Last night's episode? That also ruled.

This doesn't cover all the good things about the last four days, or even all the great ones, but it's a nice start, I think. This was just one of those wonderfully balanced periods of time, where the highs were high and the lows were only middling-low, and I? Really, really needed that.

Glee.
