Turkey breast steaks (aka, 'what Seanan had for dinner).

Dec 10, 2004 07:22

You will need:

* Two turkey breast steaks (the sort sliced from the middle of the breast, so that they're thick, rather than wide).
* Two tablespoons garlic paste.
* One tablespoon olive oil.
* Black pepper.
* One small leek.
* One cup peas or other green veg.
* Two cups mushrooms.

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit. Take a baking pan and cover it with foil, leaving enough overage to allow you to 'tent' the contents once ready. Place your turkey breast steaks in the pan, rub the tops liberally with garlic paste, and sprinkle with black pepper. Drizzle olive oil over meat and base of pan.

Wash and slice your leek, and mound the curls on and around the meat. Quarter mushrooms and chop green veg as appropriate; pile around the meat and leeks. Cover the entire mixture with the foil tent, and place in the oven. Bake for forty-five minutes or until meat is cooked through and tender. Serves four; quite nice with fat-free sour cream.

WW points, assuming you use peas as your green veg and slice turkey to six-ounce portions: 7 points per serving.

This tastes even better the next morning, if you (like me) are the sort of person who prefers leftovers to breakfast foods.
