Did you ever like non-diet doctor pepper, or do you genuinely like the taste of DDP better?

Oooooh, yeah. I used to drink Dr Pepper the way I drink DDP now -- which is to say, like water. And then I did the math on how many calories that was per day, and decided that unless I wanted to be a perfect sphere, Something Had To Change.

So when Chris and I drove to Seattle in March of 2001, I decided not to drink anything but DDP for the whole way, and to drink a lot of it. At the start of the trip, it tasted terrible, and I was gagging. By the end of the trip, I was craving more.

Forget aversion therapy; addiction therapy is much more fun.

I secretly tend to blame the snow bank for this. Back in the lizard part of your brain, you just knew: if you didn't make the switch by the time we were driving back past Shasta, I'd dump you back out in the snow that you had recently reaffirmed was truly cold.

How/when did you and Mer get together?

We met in late December of 2002, and liked each other. Flirting happened, entirely online, since I live Far Away, and got a bit more serious; then I went to New York for the summer.

This is the rest. We call it 'history'.

(As for the 'how', we were introduced by the lovely ladymondegreen, whom I was already going to love forever, but wow does this not hurt.)

Have you ever been to University, and if so, what have you studied?

I attended UC Berkeley until the money ran out; I was a Folklore major, with a minor in English. I hope to eventually finish one of these degrees, although the odds aren't stellar.

Mer -- Meredith -- is my dear and my darling one, and my current significant other. Long distance sucks, but she's more than worth it.

How do you harness your muse, your creativity, yourself -- to MAKE yourself work ?

With a chainsaw.

Seriously -- it's largely a combination of inspiration (IE, 'gotta get this down RIGHTNOWOMGAWD!!!!') and sheer force of will (sit, type, sit, type, sit, type). I use isolation tactics when there's nothing else; most of the time, however, I just bang my head on the screen until the words come out.
