Presents!
I got a package from stakebait, who has managed to out-adorable the REST OF THE WORLD by tucking my Yuletide gifts into a construction paper Christmas stocking. That's right; a Christmas stocking. Could you be cuter? No, you could not be cuter. Nothing in this world could be cuter. Except maybe for kittens.
Inside the stocking, she'd hidden an ornament shaped like a lizard climbing on a candy cane (awwwwwwwww), an iron-on patch shaped like a mermaid (does she know me or what? Lizards and mermaids!), a cute little fairy notebook that is already being filled with details for my trip, and a book on the British imagination. Oh, and a tube of minty Apookalips lip gloss, which is tasty and makes my lips feel soft.
I am a bad blonde who has not yet mailed presents to the Mer, and will have to leave them with porpentine. And yet I am blessed with lovely things from far away. Life is good.
