Angels.

So a friend of mine quoted this on my social MUSH:

"All right. Some degenerate latter-day versions of these creatures are cute. But elves and angels in their original conceptions are not, *not*, *NOT* cute.

The first of remark of a Biblical angel tends to be "Fear not," because the person he's addressing has a tendency to be face down on the ground, prostrate with terror or swooning."

Now, there are a few angels in my head, all connected to the series 'Old Gods'. The main character of 'Seven for a Secret' and 'Tuesday's Child' is actually an angel. So that comment led me to write this:

"The angel said 'fear not'!" he said, hands shaking.
"Uh-huh? And then what did it say?" Magpie asked, trying not to flinch. She always felt bad about melting their brains, and she didn't even remember doing this one.
"It said, 'give me six bottles of red wine. Oh, and some chips. Oh, and some chocolate crisps, and a pack of bubblegum'," said the old man, voice trembling with awe.
Magpie sighed. Yeah, this was one of hers...

Life is hard when you're an alcoholic, earth-bound angel.
