My daughter, there are mermaids on the moon.
Look inside your heart: you know it's true.
They swim and play in bright lunar lagoons,
They look up at the sky and dream of you.

We're all somebody else's fairy tale.
Lift anchor now, and let your heart set sail.

My daughter, there are dragons in the fog.
Look inside your hopes: you know its true.
They settle in the wetlands and the bog;
They flame their dreadful flames, and dream of you.

We're all somebody else's fairy tale.
Lift anchor now, and let your heart set sail.

My daughter, there are humans in the night.
Look inside your fears: you know it's true.
They clutch and grasp, they claw and snarl and bite.
They look down at the earth, and dream of you.

We're all somebody else's fairy tale.
Lift anchor now, and let your heart set sail.
