Song: In Black, In Green.

Jun 18, 2009 10:29

The goddess of life, clad all in green,
Walked along the shore,
And her sister in black strode along at her side,
And told her of the war,

How they had named her as the queen,
And fought to serve her name.
How brave men had fought, and how brave men had died,
How she was all to blame-

For more have died in serving life
        Than ever death demands.
Before you reach to claim the knife,
Ask which one guides your hands.

The goddess of life, with hair of gold,
Roamed beside the sea,
And her sister in black begged for cease-fire and peace,
For grace and sanity,

Said death had more than it could hold,
Said life must do its share.
The goddess in green did not offer surcease,
Nor did she seem to care-

For more have died in serving life
        Than ever death demands.
Before you reach to claim the knife,
Ask which one guides your hands.

The goddess of life, with eyes like fire,
Roamed in ecstasy,
And her sister in black whom no brave man will serve
Followed sorrowfully,

For death and life are like desire,
Forever intertwined,
And not even a goddess gets what she deserves
There by the sounding sea-

For more have died in serving life
        Than ever death demands.
Before you reach to claim the knife,
Ask which one guides your hands.
