Awake, and breathe.

So I am once again awake. This despite -- after swearing up, down, and sideways that I was going to go to bed early last night, ha ha, joke's on me -- failing to go to sleep until roughly one o'clock in the morning. Lilly is doing her insanely cute 'stand up next to the computer chair with her feet on the seat cushion trying to get into my lap' thing, but is, alas, inherently doomed to failure, because I am wearing nothing but a slick leopard-print sleep shirt. I love my kitty, but not enough to let her rake my flesh at will.

My mother spent most of yesterday at my house doing YEOMAN LABORS getting the place clean. We sucked up roughly enough cat hair to build another half-dozen cats, as well as tearing down all the carefully-constructed cobwebs. Morticia Addams would be terribly ashamed of me, but honestly, I don't care. I enjoy having a home that isn't filled with California's many venomous arachnid buddies. If they didn't try to kill me, I'd be much mellower about having them as temporary roommates.

I've arranged and confirmed my first Rosemary and Rue book release shindig -- I'm going to be at Borderlands Books in San Francisco on Saturday, September 5th. We're still working to absolutely confirm the time we'll be starting, along with other fun facts about the event, but I'll be posting buckets of details both on the website and in my other journal just as soon as they exist. (Most professional stuff goes in the other journal, 'cause that's why it's there. Also because, well. I have no issues if everybody here wants to go there. I sort of don't want everybody there to come here, as I actually like writing fanfic and talking about my underpants.) I'm excited. Also terrified.

Today is my monthly trip to Sacramento for gaming and socialization with the likes of Matt, Michelle, and David. (Also the rest of the gaming group, but it usually winds up the four of us for extended periods of time.) I like this, at least in part because it means two hours on the train to just focus and write, and I adore that time. I'm stuck in a snarly place in Late Eclipses, I have a song and a 'Velveteen vs.' story to finish, and we're not even getting started on the current IP round.

Less than two weeks to Seattle, and to Alice.
