10. Today is the first day of Wondercon, San Francisco's own entry in the wonderful world of the comic book convention! I'm actually planning to attend all three days this year, much as it pains me to admit that I'm spending an entire weekend commuting back into the city where I store my day job; the distribution of the X-Men and media panels compels me. Woo-hoo, comics!
9. My garden of carnivorous plants is doing well, and continues to digest whatever chances to stick to it. Mostly moths and occasional bits of cat. (Whiskers only, I swear.)
8. Despite the events of earlier this week, I have managed to eat every day. Not always healthily, not always exactly what I ought to be eating, but given that I spent Tuesday and Wednesday crying myself literally sick, I consider this to be a pretty good thing.
7. A fabulous care package of ARCs and goodies from the New York Comicon hit my porch on Wednesday, and brought sunlight back into my week, largely by increasing the size of my to-be-read pile from 'poor' to 'may actually last through March.' Also, I have an ARC of the new Melissa Marr book, Fragile Eternity, to read and enjoy. I feel special. And the cover is gorgeous.
6. Another week of new comics, and Jean Grey is still dead.
5. The Consonance program grid is finished, turned in, and no longer my problem. Although forwarding it to people who ask to know what's happening when at the convention remains my problem, of course, that being the nature of things such as this.
4. Supernatural got renewed for a fifth season. Kripke has said, several times, that it's only intended to be a five season show; this means we just got renewed to get the rest of the story. Between this and Leverage, I will consider forgiving the universe for taking away The Middleman.
3, The code for my website is sexy beyond belief, courtesy of Chris, and allows me to do so much of my own upgrading that it simply boggles the mind. I can literally spot a typo, hit my tools page, make corrections, and reload in a matter of minutes. I won't be able to do my own maintenance forever -- hours in the day again -- but for now, it's a godsend.
2. I get to go to Seattle the first weekend in April! I could say it was to visit friends, see the Sooj show, and hear Kitten Sundae, but really, it's...
1. ...to pick up my new kitten. I am now officially about to become the new owner of a blue tabby Maine Coon from Pinecoon Catteries, in Seattle, Washington. There are a great many reasons for this breed change. The primary ones are 'I fell in love,' and 'nobody on the West Coast is breeding Classic Siamese.'
Life is okay.
