Since I don't work today -- all hail holidays, all hail the opportunity they give for finishing the damn laundry already -- this morning has been something of a preview of what my working habits will be like when I'm writing full-time. So let's review.
8:06 AM: Wake up. Really regret this. A lot.
8:15 AM: Make it to the computer. Check email. Discover that I have apparently crossed wires with one of my publishers. Send an email inquiring as to the location of my wire. Review edits received overnight to my various manuscripts in progress. Determine that yes, apparently last night's herculean efforts were good ones. Be vindicated.
8:21 AM: Transfer latest episode of Chuck to thumb drive. Go to the back to watch Chuck, eat breakfast, and generally wake up enough that I won't break anything by trying to work on it before my brain has come all the way out of hibernation.
9:15 AM: Wake up Lilly, get off the couch, return to my room. Hey, email from the publisher telling me where the wire went. Neat. Check email again, confirm Facebook requests, and start working.
...so apparently, I have a pretty solid work ethic, mixed with a really decent quantity of sanity. (I know people who would say that watching TV before I start writing proves that my priorities are skewed. I consider my desire to avoid writing once and rewriting six times a pretty sane one, myself.) I am hence a happy girl, and may continue merrily on my way.
