Thirty-one years ago, in the ABC Ward of the Premature Births Unit at the Martinez, California hospital, I started. This was somewhat unplanned on my part, as was a lot of what came after. But that's the fun of it, right?
Since then, I have lived in Washington, California, New Jersey and Indiana, and England. I have picked blueberries in the rain, fallen down the stairs of a deserted Tube station, been bitten by all manner of venomous reptiles, written books, written songs, found friends, had my heart broken, broken a few hearts, danced on tables, stripped on stage, learned to draw, written a sonnet every day for a year, run away from a train, passed out on a train, told the truth, told a lie, eaten ten times my body-weight in tomatoes, fallen in love with candy corn, and generally done my best to be the best Marilyn Munster Halloweentown Disney Princess cautionary tale coyote girl that I can. I haven't always gotten it right, but I haven't always gotten it wrong, either.
I am glad to be here.
Thank you all for being here, too.
life rocks,
contemplation,
self,
good things,
