1) Slept for shit.
2) Chris, who slept over, also appears to have slept for shit, as he is now throwing up in my front bathroom.
3) Nyssa, whom Chris blames at least in part for his having slept like shit, is now loafed up on my pillow. I don't know why that cat harasses sleepover guests the way she does; she's never harassed me like that. It's tedious.
4) Lilly, meanwhile, is stretched out next to my purse, looking plaintive. I think my cats hate the end of the weekend even more than I do. There's always the hope that this time, I won't remember that I'm supposed to go back to work at the end of it. This time, I'll stay home with them forever.
5) Not that I'm presently all that excited about Monday coming to scoop me into its hoary claws like some sort of vast alien vulture seeking prey. I'd much rather stay home and get some writing done. Alas, we cannot always get the things we desire from this world.
6) I can, however, get the new Kelley Armstrong book on Tuesday, and catch a flight to Ohio first thing on Thursday morning. At this point, the answer to 'what are you planning to do on the plane?' is almost certainly going to be 'sleep,' which is tedious; I much prefer it when the answer is 'write a best-selling novel and make my agent happy.' Alas, sleep deprivation prevents such halcyon dreams from turning real.
7) Ah, well. At least I've actually managed to fit practically everything I need into my suitcase already. Which, given that I'm going to be in Ohio for four days, followed by a full week in Alabama, is a bit of an achievement. I will be dressed in actual clothing the whole time! Gasps and amazement! Now I just need to update my songbook...
And that's the morning so far.
