Thirteen wonderful things for a day in June.

Tomorrow is Friday the 13th! I love Friday the 13th. Not the movies, the day itself. Thirteen has always been my lucky number, and keeping that firmly in mind, I decided when I was like, six that Friday the 13th was thus my super-duper-ultra-awesome magical day of ultimate luckiness. I have yet to have this declaration challenged in any meaningful way. And so today, I bring you thirteen wonderful things that can make your life better. This is how I show I care.

1. Vixy and Tony's amazingly fantastically wonderful album, appropriately titled Thirteen, can be ordered right now! Yes! You can have your very own copy of one of my favorite filk albums, created by two of my favorite people. Seriously, if you like my stuff, you already like theirs. It's a scientific fact.

2. All three of my dear, dear friends to require surgery this month -- Tom, Brooke, and Beckett -- are recovering well, and will probably be better, in the long run, for the cutting and the repairs. This doesn't mean I'm happy about them being in hospital, because I'd rather none of my friends were ever in hospital, but they're going to get better. Also, being in hospital means you're more likely to get mutated. And that makes me happy.

3. Fiber One has come out with two new flavors of chewy bar! Yeah, yeah, less important than the first two items on my list, and yet so utterly delicious that I simply fail to care. I've tried them both. The oats and apple streusel bars are completely rocking me. The strawberry and almond bars rock me less, but that's probably because I don't like almonds. Made of win.

4. Hack/Slash is now at twelve issues and counting for the monthly series, and isn't showing any signs of slowing down. I am so delighted to see this comic making it in the monthly market. There are three individual trade paperbacks; there's also an omnibus collecting all the material prior to the monthly series. I can't recommend this enough.

5. There's a new pendant sale coming up at chimera_fancies. Even if I don't find anything in the sale that catches my heart, the pendants are always right for someone -- maybe this time you'll find the one that's exactly and perfectly right for you. Watch the chimera_fancies LJ for sale announcements.

6. I'm gonna be Music Guest of Honor at Duckon. SQUEE!

7. I'm going to be spending this weekend in Sacramento, in the company of some of my favorite people in the world. As seems to be the norm, I'm going to have a writing deadline while I'm there, but Matt and Michelle have known me since high school; they're used to me retreating into work, and they know how to get me out of it again. Sometimes with a crowbar.

8. The Happening opens tomorrow. Major summer movie with Zooey Deschanel as the female lead? Yeah, I think I can deal with that. I think I can deal with that very, very well. The movie itself still needs to do well, but I've elected to be guardedly hopeful.

9. I smell like pumpkin. Pumpkin soap, pumpkin body wash, pumpkin perfume. I am the pumpkin queen.

10. It's Thursday. That means tasty Indian food and stupid television shows with Kate, which is pretty much invariably made of awesome and win. I love spending Thursday nights hanging out with people and enjoying the world. Even if we did watch four solid hours of So You Think You Can Dance last week.

11. Mia got the dead things I mailed to her! That means I now have a completely valid excuse to go back to The Bone Room and dig around in their bins full of dead and broken things. It's hard to make me happier.

12. My friend gaaneden has successfully sold her anthology, Grants Pass, to Morrigan Books! Everybody throw your hands in the air and dance! This is an awesome thing for an awesome person, and more, it's an awesome concept. I love anybody who gives me a whole book full of pandemics and plague. I'm easy.

13. I get to see Evil Dead: the Musical at the Campbell Theater with my beloved baby sister on my favorite day of all days. Zombies, chainsaws, dancing, and the theater has a bar. Life doesn't get much better.
