10. It's Thursday, which makes it Weight Watchers day. Not awesome for everyone, maybe, but since I genuinely enjoy attending meetings -- if nothing else, they're an excuse to sit quietly for half an hour, listening to weight loss tips and drawing comic strips. There is no bad here.
9. Only one strip left in my Conflikt report! (For those of you who happen to be counting, that makes ten strips to get from one end of the convention to the other, plus the initial 'OMG they want me to be their what?!' strip, plus the various plagues. There's a third plague strip, by the by, which will be going up tomorrow. This con has used almost an entire pad of my comic strip pa...no, scratch that. Ten plus one plus three equals fourteen. This con has used an entire pad of my comic strip paper. Wooooooooooooow.)
8. I have Tin Man on DVD! All the Zooey Deschanel-goes-to-Oz goodness I could want, whenever I could happen to want it! I really appreciate the fact that Sci-Fi got it out so fast; I'm a huge fan of this sort of miniseries, and since I'm not a Nielsen family, the best way for me to vote is with my dollars. Here, Sci-Fi. Here are my dollars. Sequel, now, please.
7. I've finished processing all my simple textual Newsflesh edits; what I have to handle now is the more serious, 'roll up your sleeves, grit your teeth, and re-write' editing, which is going to include drafting and possibly inserting two entirely new chapters. Yay for the hard stuff! Especially when it's the sort of hard stuff that's visibly improving the text, every word along the way.
6. I've been asked to give a concert at BayCon, over Memorial Day weekend! This is gonna be awesome. Tony and Vixy will be there, and will also be giving a concert. Since a lot of my material involves the two of them, I'm really not sure whether or not to hope we wind up back-to-back; I suppose we'll have to wait and see how things settle out. Whatever the end result, it's gonna be awesome, and you should all totally be there.
5. Doomsday opens tomorrow! Everybody loves a post-apocalyptic bioterror aftermath movie crossed with Beyond Thunderdome, right? For values of 'everybody' that mean 'me', anyway. I have my movie date, I have my spiffy dead things T-shirt (although most of my best-loved T-shirts involve dead things, at this point), and I have every intention of screaming my head off with the sheer infectious joy of it all.
4. There's a big poster for The Ruins up in my morning BART station, being menacing at the commuters. This makes me happy. Even better, the red-band (restricted) trailer has been released, and it's glorious. Gory and disturbing and horrible enough that Chris, who normally serves as my horror movie buddy, refuses to see it with me. That means win.
3. Beth is going to be joining us for dinner tonight (after joining me for Weight Watchers). I like Beth. I don't get to spend enough time with Beth. And Beth has never, to my knowledge, met Kate. So this will be one of those 'drop two tigers on a hill, see who survives the experience' moments, and those are always super-fun.
2. I smell like embalming fluid.
1. Vixy and Tony have wrapped recording on Thirteen! Expect to see me make a much bigger deal of this once the mixing and layout are done, but for right now, you can rest content in the sweet, sweet knowledge that thirteen amazing tracks are all in the can, getting ready to come your way. Filkers, you know how much these people rock. People who aren't necessarily filkers, but have either of my albums, check the liner notes -- you, too, know how much they rock. Browncoats...I need say no more.
So much goodness in the world! What's rocking your world today?
