Sometimes, it's the little things.

I started today with a good, viable, and solidly constructed plan. I would survive my hours of paid labor, take the train back to my part of the Bay Area, get off at the train station before my usual, and walk to the comic book store by way of the Jamba Juice, hence to obtain both tasty fruity dairy and the new issue of Hack/Slash (issue #6 of the ongoing series, bringing us halfway to the next trade paperback yaaaaaaaay). There would be food, there would be comics, everybody would win...only not, because it turns out that a) today isn't New Comic Day, due to the holidays, and b) my comic store won't be getting this issue of Hack/Slash anyway. They only get it at all as a special order for me, and they didn't order this one, so...

Lovely. Not only are my dinner plans shot, it's another trip to Berkeley for the comic that brings me more joy than a pillow stuffed with chainsaw-wielding bunnies.

After a great deal of whinging, whining, and generally being a grumpy girl, I have come up with a new plan. I'm going to BART to my normal stop (1), get off the train and walk to the local produce-and-fish store (2), buy a nice shiny tilapia (3), walk back to the train station and catch a commuter bus home (4), and then work out on the treadmill watching Hairspray while my fishy dinner cooks to a delicious brown. It's going to require a bit more effort on my part, because the produce store is small and hard to reach, but I will be rewarded with tilapia, and an excuse to play with my Hairspray DVD. And that sort of excuse is never bad. I have a plan.

I am not grumpy anymore.
