10. I found three pennies on my way to work this morning. Two of them were those awesome 'we have been run over so many times that we are the monetary equivalent of roadkill' crunchy pennies, and one was new, sleek and shiny. Street pennies make me stupid-happy.
9. Movie plans for the weekend are a) entirely schizophrenic, and b) shaping up nicely, with Grindhouse on Friday and The Namesake on Saturday. Zombies! Strippers! Thoughtful consideration of the cultural divide faced by the children of immigrants! Mental whiplash for the win, yo.
8. In less than two weeks, my cousins Victor and Lara (blood and marriage, respectively, which explains why the one says thoughtfully 'The world needs more mad scientists', while the other will probably get a medal when she leads an angry mob against the pair of us) will be here in California! I love Victor and Lara. Family rules.
7. I am currently reading a book called Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers. It is, hands down, the funniest thing I've read all year. And that really goes a long way towards explaining that angry mob, huh?
6. My new BPAL came! I smell like pretty poison apples. I like smelling like pretty poison apples. I consider it a massive improvement in the human condition.
5. Stars Fall Home has a COVER. Stars Fall Home has INTERIOR ILLUSTRATIONS. More on both of these later, but for right now, this is improving my world immensely.
4. One of my favourite Marvel Comics characters of all time, Illyana Rasputin, is making a comeback. Hopefully a permanent one. (And this isn't a spoiler, since they've been running adverts for 'The Search for Magik' for a month now.) I know the old saw 'they aren't dead, they're X-Men' came about for a reason, and I don't care. Why should only the Jean fans get their faves back? Happiness.
3. Jean Grey is still dead. More happiness.
2. My beloved Kate is finally back from England! Oh, how I have missed her. She brings the sane, and the sane is vital to the survival, and the survival is key.
1. Last night, Shawn talked me to sleep, and this morning, Kate and Jeff and Sunil have all been chattery. The world is full of wonderful people who make it absolutely worth being a part of. Tom, Dave and Victor all called to check on me this weekend; Joy sent me pages; and life is good.
Glee.
life rocks,
good things
