An open letter to James Gunn.

Dear Mr. Gunn;

You don't know me. You've never met me. Odds are good that if we ever do meet, through the slow, strange tides of modern fandom, we'll exchange perhaps ten words, and five of them will be 'hello', followed by 'I love your work'. We aren't friends, we aren't neighbors, and we are highly unlikely, barring truly strange and ( Read more... )

This requires an icon of him with the lettering: Uwe Boll's Arch-Enemy!

Your revelation of Mr. Gunn's secret almost cost me a new monitor. Thankfully, I had just swallowed my latest mouthful of DrP.

I'd say I was sorry. But I'm not. So that would be lying. And lying is bad. So I'm not sorry! But I am glad that you'd already swallowed.

It's never fun to rinse one's sinuses with something carbonated :P

(I'll get this post right eventually.)

Slither was so. Much. Fun.

And, speaking of Troma, did you by any chance happen to notice the nod to The Toxic Avenger?

Dude, natch. Also, the director of The Toxic Avenger was one of the shambling zombie townspeople.

Not that this has anything to do with Troma, but I can't resist!

Just because I know you'll get it, I give you a rough replay of what happened in the parking lot after the movie:

STELLA!

STELLA!

::coughs:: Ahem. I mean ...

STARLA!

Praise Nyarloth'tep. I thought I was the only one who was messing up the name. I heard "Starla" "Stella" and "Carla".

I'm just glad we finally -found- Uwe's arch-nemesis. I was starting to worry.

And on a random note, may I say that I simply love the opportunity to use this icon in context that actually makes sense, rather than it simply being "random tentacle thing time!"

But 'random tentacle thing time' is so much fun! It makes all the little Japanese school girls cross their legs and cower in terror.

And when I say things like that I realize once again I am a bad, bad woman.

Yes, but you're -our- bad, bad woman, so all is well :)

We could always sell her on the black market. Make a few bucks.

Or not.

Wow, he wrote the Scooby Doo movies, too?! Just in case Slither itself wasn't enough for me, knowing that ensures I'll be there. (No, I haven't seen it. I was at FKO. I will see it soon.)
