How I Met Your Mother Barney/Robin > Ted/Robin?
Okay, so I've been gone an embarrassingly long time and this may come like such a random entry, but...
For those How I Met Your Mother fans out there, is it just me or do most people want Barney/Robin together more than Ted/Robin?
I got this impression after checking the LJ interest page and while that's certainly not a reflection of the general consensus, it made me curious.
It's kinda weird, cause Ted & Robin have that 'Ross & Rachel' thing going, which I was never into by the way and was one reason why Friends didn't earn my unending adoration as a show, heh.
Don't get me wrong, I ain't complainin', because, hello, Barney and Robin are like so damn perfect together.
So I finally joined the party that is How I Met Your Mother mania. Hey, after 'downing' four seasons of Two and a Half Men, which was a lot more awesome than I thought it could be, it was the least I could do. I'm only on early season two, but I'm already in love with the characters...
Barney is just the best... He is so hilarious and hot (I love a guy in suits, as you know). But, man oh man, I'm in love with him as equally as I am in love with Robin. Obviously, she is beautiful and awesome, but out of everything, I just identify with her. The way she is... Her fear of commitment and the way she's not traditionally feminine... Well, that's me.
... which is why I'm not loving the Ted/Robin pairing. Ironically, Ted's my least favorite character. He's just got that whiny, neurotic, girly 'Ross' quality, which I can't stand in men. No offense, I mean, I know some girls love it, but, yeah, I can't get into it. I think that's why I put off watching this show for so long. I'd seen the occasional episodes and I knew I wasn't going to like Ted/Robin, but, hey, now that I'm in it, I must say that the brilliance of this show is worth putting up with that pairing (especially since I've been spoiled that there's light at the end of the tunnel).
But anyway speaking of pairings, Lily/Marshall are just the cutest. I love that they're so stable and adorable and soulmatey. They make me want to be in a relationship, hey.
Well, I'm gonna go back to my show. So yes, Barney/Robin over Ted/Robin? Barney-style high-five? Who's with me? Come on...
