Nope, I did not just *POOF* vanished from the face of the Earth. My parents are in town and, typical of them, made spontaneous plans to drive up to Sydney. So that's where I've been since Monday... Road trip through Canberra and then Sydney. I caught a HORRENDOUS cold from both my sisters (well, trapped in the backseat with them for eight hours a day will do that to ya), so I'm kinda fuzzy-headed, leaking from the nose, and feel like I have a porcupine stuck in my throat :(. I'm gonna try to catch up with your updates, but perhaps not all tonight, since MotoGP is coming in less than two hours and there's also going to be a Law & Order: CI and SVU marathon.
I've been sleeping a lot since I got back yesterday, but I did manage to finally catch the NASCAR SONOMA race :D. Wooo, GO JUAN PABLO MONTOYA!!! I'm so happy for his first ever Nextel Cup win :). And he got it fair and square too, not needing to wreck a teammate at the finish line ;). I was basically on the edge of my seat through the final four laps, cheering him on. I was SO SCARED he'd run out of fuel, like the commentators said he would. Especially after both Edwards and Jamie Mac did, like, two laps before the checkered :(. And Kevin Harvick was leering so close too. But, yay, Montoya conserved enough fuel and he won it!!! Wooo! 'Kinda appropriate too since everyone was anticipating how good he'd be on a road course ;). Jeff & Jimmie did well too, considering their penalties. I haven't checked with
alexwhitman25 so I'm not quite sure what NASCAR ended up giving them :(. This whole affair's very dodgy and unfair, in my opinion.
What else... Oh yeah, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
chandrahasa! Many happy returns, mate, and hopefully our boy Alonso will give you a great present by winning this weekend :).
I've also been watching Wimbledon on and off. I don't really have a favorite player, but I'm rooting for anyone besides Federer ;). That dude just wins WAY too much. Nadal probably has the greatest chance of doing it, so maybe I'll go for him. I like Roddick too but the guy can be over-emotional to his own detriment :(. We'll see...
I think because of the lack of new TV, I've been turning to sports for my addiction, heh ;). During times of sickness such as this, I also kinda feel like baseball. It's just one of those that's good to watch while lying down. Problem is I only go for specific teams and we don't exactly get a liberal amount of baseball coverage here in OZ. But I might look into it. Just for interest's sake, I'll probably watch any game with the following: Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, Chicago White Sox, NY Yankees, NY Mets.
Meanwhile, my football team (Melbourne Demons) continues to be heartbreaking. They've only won twice this season and last night they lost to Essendon by TWO FREAKIN' POINTS!!! Argh!!!
Hmmm, such a sport-oriented entry O.O?
I'll write more when I'm not so fuzzy-headed. For now, I'll just end with this:
GO PEDROSA & STONER for tonight's MotoGP!
