Wow, FINALES of all of my four 'Friday' shows today. Big day :).
Ugly Betty 1x23 - "East Side Story"
Wow, what a FINALE!!! I'm so glad I've caught this show. It REALLY is a gem :D!
- First of all... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... to SANTOS!!! Ahhh, PTB, how COULD you?!? I just couldn't hold it when Hilda broke down and then thinking about when she has to tell Justin. Noooooo... My God, so sad...
- And Alexis & Daniel!!! They just CAN'T die!!! They can't. Well, at least Daniel can't, but Alexis? I really really really hope not. They're currently my favorite brother-sister on-screen (and my second favorite 'Daniel' relationship, after Daniel & Betty). I want to see them re-build their relationship. "I don't hate you" ---> Come on, they just can't leave that at that!
- Betty/Henry!!! Favorite scene:
And... FINALLY!
I LOVE how beautiful that scene is. Ahhhh, so close! He MUST come back next season, he just must! He's THE perfect guy for Betty. I can't believe Charlie cheated with Dr. Fargus though! Out of ANYONE!!! Another REDHEAD. Huh. Henry should figure it out once the baby comes out as a carrot top (I mean redheaded-ness is a recessive gene, so you're more likely to get a redheaded kid if both parents are redheads ---> eg. The Weasleys).
- And, wow, Wilhemina was actually sweet! I was awwwwwing throughout the scene Marc came back. Another favorite scene: The HUG!
- So Amanda is Fey's daughter??? Man this show cannot get more soapie but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Like I mentioned to
cruz_control55, I wonder if Bradford's the daddie too... Haha, okay that would kinda stretch it, but OMG!juicy! Daniel will have yet another sister... one that he's slept with. God, that would be GOOD television...
- And Christina's married? I still think she needs a love interest.
- Yay for Daniel's mom breaking out of jail! She needs to kick Wilhemina's botox butt for real.
- And hee hee for Kristin Chenoweth making a guest appearance. She was hilarious as a super obsessive rom-com-watcher!
crowdedangels will be THRILLED!
Argh, how am I gonna survive three or so months without Betty? I hate finales...
SUPERNATURAL 1x22 - "ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE PT II
- OMG!!! What a finale!!! I went from being heartbroken at the start for Dean, to clutching myself in suspense over the gates of hell opening at the end!!!
- BEST SCENE: THE HUG!!!
One more, cause we just cannot get enough of this scene:
THANK YOU KRIPKE!!! Now if we can only have one when it's daylight, with lots of sideshots, shots from Dean's side, shots from Sam's side, ah hell, shots from EVERY POSSIBLE ANGLE, and lasting about a minute... Yeah, that'd be peachy, mkay, thanks...
- I LOVE the set-up for next season with Sam (for once) trying all he can to save Dean's soul. I love how he didn't give up or bitch or drown himself in angst at the thought of costing Dean his life, but instead was determined to fight it with ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. AWESOME! I wonder what's going on with Sam's soul though. I hope that really is 100% Sam...
LOVE Dean's smile in this pic. He's hurt and cursed and all, but it's SO like Dean to smirk :D.
- The special kids' true purpose is a bit of a let-down, but ehhh, okay, good enough. Opening the gates of hell is slightly Buffy-ish, but I ain't complaining cause they handled that SO WELL, both with releasing many ghouls for the boys to fight next season, and JOHN WINCHESTER, long enough to help his sons kill the yellow-eyed demon. I heard a rumor that John's joining the cast next season, but I love how it ended here, with him literally 'going to the light.' I like the thought of John in heaven... :).
- And YAY, finally the YELLOW-EYED DEMON DEAD!!! LOVED that Dean got to do it. After two seasons of his menacing, I think it's a suitable end for this monster. I LOVE that Kripke & co. don't drag things out to the point where viewers don't care anymore (*cough*Lost*cough*).
- Big HEH to Bobby and Ellen LITERALLY closing the gates of hell. Hee hee, I just find the thought funny. And cool, I guess they can be the Winchesters' parents figures that the boys can OCCASIONALLY consult next season (just don't bring back, Jo, okay, thanks).
- No CLIFFHANGER this season finale! I LOVE it. Thank you, Kripke!
I LOVE how they end this season with the same shot as how they ended the "Pilot" ("We got work to do"). GREAT, GREAT parallel:
- Finally, a big-ass WHOOP to Supernatural being renewed for next season!!! *throws confetti like you wouldn't believe*. Hey, if this show held its own against CSI & Grey's, it deserves all the praise in the world... I think they just know what they're doing and sticking to what they know. So they only have two characters, but they developed them and their relationship beyond belief! They also don't have a big budget, but they spend it where it matters: On their cool-ass signature muted-color cinematography/filters, imaginative almost tongue-in-cheek set designs, and kick-ass car and music. Their plots aren't too complicated and they don't use too many CGIs, considering the nature of the show, but the simplistic style also fits them. It really is, at the most basic, a show about two brothers road-tripping across the country. And, oh yeah, they happen to be demon-hunters. I don't know, I'm just in awe of this much too under-appreciated show (*Caderyn being corny*).
CSI 7x24 - "Living Doll"
- WOW, what an ending!!! I think that's the first CSI cliffhanger finale! I wonder if Sara will survive... I heard about the behind-the-scenes tiff with Jorja Fox, so I don't know if she'll come back. Apparently, Sara was supposed to be outrightly killed in tonight's episode... Hmmm, I guess we'll find out next season. Is William Peterson coming back?
- I LOVE that the serial killer turned out to be a girl. Very rare indeed! She was pretty creepy too. Then again, her dad, with the dummy, freaked me out too.
- You know, there was time, when I went off CSI for a while, but now I'm back :). It's still not my favorite show like it used to be, but I gotta give it props for, not only staying alive, but staying popular after SEVEN SEASONS!!! This is probably the longest I've committed to a show, except maybe Friends, but that's a half-hour show, and The West Wing, which ended after ITS seventh season (and I STILL haven't watched past the sixth season). So yeah, KUDOS to CSI!
I haven't watched Grey's Anatomy, but if I have anything worth saying, I'll probably make another post or edit this one. Busy day hahaha...
EDIT:
Grey's Anatomy 3x25 - "Didn't We almost Have it all?"
JEEZUS CHRIST!!! Shonda doesn't know the concept of a friggin' PLATONIC relationship between men and women, does she!?! It HAPPENS, you know? In real life. Seriously, I don't go after every member of the opposite sex that comes my way. Arghhh, I hate this!
First, GEORGE/IZZIE, which, I'm sorry, I just think Izzie also has no grasp on the concept of love. Last season she went absolutely NUTS over Denny, which btw, I still don't think was true love, NOW she's going after her best friend, trying absolutely everything to ruin his life with his freakin' WIFE, hello!!! If she truly, honestly LOVES George, she'll let him go, to be happy with his wife. Game over, sweetheart, he's MARRIED!!!
Second, ALEX/AVA, WTF?!? Why must Shonda ruin this too??? Goddammit! I need at least one relationship to be sacred!!! Alex/Ava so had the brother-sister going... which was fantastic. And now this episode. Arghhh... I was so glad that Alex initially let her go because I thought, damn, at least Alex resisted the crazy Izzie-impulse. Why MUST he go after her???
This show drives me nuts with its over-the-top relationship musical chairs.
Meanwhile... Cristina/Burke... Wow, was that Burke's (Isaiah's) exit??? While I don't mind at all if he doesn't return next season, I'm still sad for Cristina.
Derek and Meredith are typical assholes. Meredith being selfish on Cristina's wedding day and Derek blaming Meredith in his looking-for-an-out-on-his-relationship. The man never owns up to anything. What a coward...
I'm so considering cutting this show next season. Especially if Addison really takes off.
