The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same.
Glad to hear most of you have made it home. Though many of you faced various difficulties in getting home; at least some of you enjoyed a stimulating conversation with an educator. ;)
Sleep was rather elusive on night 3. Due to the swells, I spend most of the night sliding back and forth across the bed. Still a lot of conjecture on what the max pitch was; though I've heard from 25 to 38. This storm caused us to run parallel with the peninsula, which means that we've lost a little over a day and had to cut out the South Shetland islands.
Today started out bleak and dreary, though the weather has cleared some. Enough to view a couple of Minke(sp?) whales, and one or two orca off in the distance. And whilst I haven't seen any Black Crows I did manage some Black-brown Albatross.
We have had our early dinner and are all kitted up for Neko Harbor... and the stern crane broke. We've only a single zodiac in the water and have what looks like a 40 minute delay ahead of us (hence this email). The clouds are coming in and though I am hopeful that the sun may peak through; Wong has already written off this excursion. Nothing to do now but wait...
Oh, and the toilets have already been clogged 4 times! :P
