Have I offended some sort of technology god? Am I not making enough burnt offerings to the Gates/Jobs/Tubes triumvirate? I swear, I am cursed by SOME damn thing.
So it started about a year ago. My tablet PC, six months out of warranty, decided that the smart thing to do would be to snap at the hinge. Whee! And here's me with no paying job and no chance of updating the warranty, thanks to Toshiba. After about six months of working on my crappy-but-hey-it-works backup laptop, that started to develop problems -- frayed power cord, flickering backlight, loose power socket, and so on.
So about a month ago, I finally managed to pick up a new laptop. It's a thing of beauty. Great widescreen display, more RAM and a bigger hard drive than I've ever had in my entire life. I can finally paint again without having the computer choke on the file.
So this morning my iPod dies. Naturally.
Is there some kind of six month timer on technology? Because it has been almost six months to the day since I received that iPod (2/05/10, to be precise). I'll be taking it in to an Apple store this weekend (as directed by customer support), but since I won the thing in a contest, I have no clue at all what Apple is going to make of my warranty.
In short, this shit is driving me up a fucking wall. Is it too much to ask that the things I buy work for longer than a couple months at a time?
