Proof That Tony Is Full of Shit

So tonight had a moment of insanity and reluctantly agreed to get coffee with Tony. He ended up playing Boggle after we had our drinks and then was espousing the merits of the game when punctuated his vocal diarrhea with an example where he used "BAN-nal" in a sentence. I was texting to Zainab and only half listening, so when he said, "You don't know what 'BAN-nal' is, do you?" I was responded with no. He said it means boring and I asked him how he spelled it. He said B-A-N-N-A-L. I asked, isn't it pronounced banal (as in "buh-'nal") bc it seemed similar but he was all, "yeah you would think so but no."
I was having trouble getting a dictionary website to load on my stupid phone so I just checked it. 1) There is no word spelled bannal. 2) The only similar word is banal which is pronounced like I said it.
It just pisses me off that he's such a condescending asshole about words and yet he wasn't right about this AT ALL.
