Last Night Journal Recap
Just to recap for those that only read the entries that appear on Facebook (although you could click recent entries above to see them all), last night I had a mini-party which spawned from sitting on my balcony naked. Not that many people showed up because of how last minute it was, but it was still good times. Jailbait Tim was actually dressed normal instead of Tripp pants and a fishnet shirt, which I don't ever recall seeing! I know that I am not supposed to drink on the pills I am on, but I did anyways because of news that I heard which I will get into extremely briefly in a couple paragraphs down. Nothing was broken, nothing was spilled, nothing was left a mess; this is why I love my friends. The cleanup before people came was a couple hours long, the cleanup after was just a few minutes and some dishes that have to be washed. Most of the night once the sun started to go down was spent by me sitting outside talking to Gavin, which ended up lasting without a break in the conversation until about 2:00am. That is very rare for me because I am the worst conversationalist and can never keep one going. There would be momentary breaks all the time for the fireworks of course, but it was a great talk. The others watched the hockey game and then watched a few fireworks and then called it a night. That is one of the problems with a Monday night party, people have work in the morning so it can only go on so long.
It Only Works When Not Needed
When a couple of my guests arrived we decided to start barbecuing right away. I went out and lit the barbecue to let it heat up so it would be ready. When we went to put the burgers on it was noticed that it was not hot. That is when it was figured out that it was not lit. I tried lighting it again except that it wouldn't light anymore. I tried cleaning all the valves and tubes, but still nothing worked. Eventually Mike figured out that when the propane adjustment knob is pushed in it works no problem. So I grabbed some hair elastics to hold the knob in and voila, it worked without issue. Now I am left with two choices, either try to hunt down this particular knob for this particular barbecue or ditch it completely and get a new one. My parents got me this one when I moved 2 times ago, so it has served me very well for about 3 years now. But I guess it is time to buy a new one. If anyone has any recommendations for just a small grill for a balcony, let me know.
What Had The Alcohol Flowing?
This is going to be one of the shortest paragraphs that I write even though it is quite a powerful one, for me at least. Those that know my head at all know why this one sentence means so much and can push me down below the rock bottom that I already hit emotionally... Sarah has a new boyfriend...
Send Yo Mama Straight Up To The Store And Tell That Bitch To Bring Home A Faygo
When I was picking up all the chips and candies and soda for the party I noticed something in the fridges at my T.O. Fine Foods. As you can obviously guess from the time, it was Faygo! They used to have the 2L and 710ml bottles a few months back, but I bought up most of their stock and they had no more for a while. Now they have cans of Faygo Red Pop and that made me happy! That is one of the ones that I had never tried before, so I was rather excited to get to try a new flavour. Red Pop is basically fruit punch pop that focuses more on the strawberry flavour. It was very delicious, so much so that I plan on going down there at some point in time today and buying them out. At $0.50 a can, why the hell not!
For Those That Don't Know
For the last 3 years I have been working for world renowned food director Derek Case. He sectioned off a portion of his film studio to put in a casting facility for film, television, commercials, and still photography. I started off as just the guy that runs the camera for the casting sessions. On my second day on the job I was working for another casting studio on the floor below us and that is when I made my first mistake, I shot the whole day without sound. They had different equipment where everything needed to be turned on manually instead of an always on situation that I was using the day before. I will never forget that mistake. Since then I have been left alone quite a bit to direct the sessions and even added my computer skills to the job by bringing casting sessions online which makes it easier for directors, producers, and agency personnel to make their selections without having to travel to the studio or each individually be sent a DVD. A large percentage of Canadian commercials on the air that have actors in them come through our hands. Also one of the most recently aired shows that we did casting for was The Bridge which everyone in the city has seen advertisements for since the Olympics. I truly love my job, and even though at times it can be quite taxing or tiring, I never tire of it like I have quite a few in my past.
Upcoming House Guest (I Hope)
Pretty good confirmation came to me yesterday afternoon before the party that Nikki New-Crush will be moving in to my spare room sometime this week. It has been pointed out to me that I still call her Nikki New-Crush even though I don't have a crush on her anymore, but the reasoning behind that is so that people know who I am talking about. If I just said Nikki, the first response would always be "which one?" because we all know many people with that name. So when I come up with nicknames for people, they stick even if not accurate anymore. I am kind of excited for this as it would be nice to know that there is another human being somewhere nearby if needed. She is a fun girl too, and quite smart which will lead to some interesting debates that I am looking forward to. With my schedule and hers, we won't be around enough to start to annoy each other which also works out quite well. Now the cleaning must begin to clear out that room. For the party I just kind of threw a bunch of stuff in there; my elliptical machine, the tree from my balcony that didn't last the winter, speakers from my computer that is now routed through my main stereo system, and bins of old shit. I am lucky there is plenty of room for everything elsewhere in the apartment, this place really is too big for just one!
Day Seven & Eight Effects
The side effects all seem to be subsiding. I still haven't doubled my dose like the doctor told me too and I don't know if I am going to. I have been reading quite a bit about Citalopram, and also other anti-depressants, and with the addictive effects that they all have I think it is best to stay at the lower dose. Last night's finding out about Sarah definitely set me back again just a week after the first incident which put me here to begin with, but I am not in tears or anything like I was before. Either it wasn't as big an impact or the pills are already starting to do their job. One thing that I think has cleared up is my insomnia. I used to get just a couple hours of sleep a night, and they weren't good hours. I used to always be up at the latest 9:00am no matter what time I went to sleep. For the past couple days I have been waking up later, around 11:00am, and it is a more restful sleep that I am getting too. I don't know if it is the pill that is helping this situation, but if so then I am very happy that I made the choice to be on it.
Enough typing now. Time to get off the balcony, put some clothes on, and get at least something done today!
