Disbelief
I first heard of the shootings while on my way to school and at that time the confirmed death toll was 21. I only caught the tail-end of the NPR news broadcast but in my mind I was hoping they were talking about an anniversary of a mass killing instead of a new incident. I doubt anyone in my Research class had heard of the shootings because I heard no discussions of it at all until I came back for my Spanish class. By the time I had done a internet search the death toll had risen. My Spanish class talked of the shootings and this common theme was echoed in conversations later that night which seems to have only fueled my disgusted interest in finding out what the hell happened to have cost so many lives. The news of this has affected me greatly today, I'm in a pretty indescribable mood but I can't seem to stop myself looking for answers in this senseless violence.
