My apologies for not writing here as much as I would like, or as much as I perhaps ought to, for whatever reason. Suffice to say that although I have gone down paths that I wish I hadn't taken, by God's grace I'm still here and hoping for the best for my life. Last week my parents went to CA/Mexico, which was a very fun and enjoyable time for them, even as it was hard for me not to be going along with them for this trip. Nonetheless, I managed to make the best of the week by keeping myself busy with at least something most every day last week. I managed to mow the back yard one day (knocked out from allergies later that afternoon), mowed the front yard the next day, and helped out with painting for a couple from my church. Of course, there were difficult moments for me during last week, where I managed to pull out a couple of old Mexico trip videos (from different years) and just reminisce and cry and all of that blasé-ness.
For those of y'all that may not have known, I've been using Linux a lot more lately **Warning, nerdy paragraph ahead** (Fedora core 1, kernel 2.4.22), I think out of culminating my intent to start learning how to use Linux, originally as a challenge for myself. Beyond that reasoning, it was merely just for the heck of it..and, aside from lackluster mp3/audio/video driver support/etc. (mainly related btwn. the stock hardware and Fedora), I really enjoy it. If I ever feel serious enough about trying out another Linux distro (short for distribution), and seeing if I get better hardware compatibility and all that nonsense. But like I say, I don't really care THAT much about it just yet, since I can at least listen to my stereo for music anyhow. I have RealPlayer installed in Linux, but it's pretty much a joke...ok, think RealPlayer 8 or 9 emulation (plus quirky audio hardware stuff). But I can at least watch videos that are Macromedia (er, now
Adobe) Flash objects.
