Happy St. Paddy's Day

Well I know it's a little early/late, but Happy St. Paddy's Day!!! All you sons and daughters of Ireland raise up your glass..even if it's just water..and remember those who've gone on before us who loved this day as much as I do. I'm pullin' out the Clancy Brothers' albums, as well all of the tracks by Solas that I have on my computer..<3 their music. Yeah, might even catch myself humming along to 'Danny Boy', if only to remember all of the Dannys in my family..most of them gone on. To my grandfather Dan Lavelle, uncle Danny Brown, his son Danny Brown, (RIP all 3), and my uncle Dan Lavelle, and all the other proud Irishmen in my family and forebears, I salute you..Slainte!

Now I wrote one of these last year on St. Paddy's day and put up a pic of my grandfather..dunno if photobucket kept it in the same place, but it's there in the archives all the same. Yes, the Irishness is the reason why I have a nice red beard, despite my more English temperament. In any case, I'll be proudly wearing my green (being that my family's been mostly Irish Catholic, by heritage), most likely my green flowered shirt, since orange is not really a part of my wardrobe and green is limited by all the blue things. If you're wondering about the icon, I think I premiered it last year about this time..it's an early shot of U2, before they were rock superstars. Well suffice to say that since it's a friday feast day in Lent, there's of course a small party happening here tomorrow night, being that two of my roomates have a running wager of sorts to not drink during lent. Beyond that, I don't know what St. Paddy's Day holds, besides a little beer, memories and of course joyous smiles. Slainte!
