Deadpool portrayed as more than just a gag character in an ongoing title? Be still my beating heart!
There's been an interesting scene involved Deadpool in the latest Uncanny X-Force #5 (which previously hadn't interested much tbh):
Previously on the title, the team (including Deadpool who has been hired by Warren for a while) goes after Appocalypse (reincarnated or something, I wasn't paying much attention) in order to kill him. It turns out Appocalypse is just a kid manipulated by creepy cultists; so the team starts arguing what to do about it, and whether they can go through executing a child. They reach a consensus of keeping kidappocalypse alive and bringing him back to raise him right, when one member of the team, Fantomex (aka Faux-French misdirection specialist Weapon Plus alumni), surprises everyone by shooting the kid in the head. Cue journey home in awkward silence.
