- Set up desk and computer in living room (this was second only to setting up the bed), and FINALLY got DSL back.
- Took delivery of and arranged furniture from St. Vinnie's (one dresser, one tall set shelves, one couch, one buffet, one wall mirror).
- St. Vinnie's delivery guys are rock stars. It didn't look like it was going to be possible to get the couch inside, but they took off the screen door and did it!
- Shelved as many books as I actually had shelves for (still need to get my entertainment center from friend's basement, and when I do, I figure I'll rent a pick-up from Home Depot to transport it and also get boards and cinder blocks for some extra shelving in the living room).
- Put away all clothing and shoes (recall: 65 pairs, though actually 63 since winter boots are in storage and one pair sneakers live at the gym).
- Put up posters in kitchen and bedroom, including all mermaids.
- Determined that my bike is definitely going to have to live inside my apartment, as leaving it outside this close to downtown is one step away from stripping it and selling the parts myself.
- Acquired and hung variegated pink panel curtains from Target (sadly not available on website, so no link) in living room.
- Following Alarming Incident, arranged cat tree so as to minimize Izzy's access to said curtains.
- Finally learned to spell "variegated" correctly.
- Put away kitchenware and such, and hung decorative cake pans over buffet.
- Hung and filled spice rack from balancingforce. It doesn't even block basement access!
- Hung huge cherry wall mirror and frippy's pop art pieces in living room.
- Hung the Scary Child in the entranceway (the rule is, he can't see into the bedroom).
- Ordered DVD player from Amazon. (Will probably take balancingforce up on his TV loan offer--man, that shit has gotten EXPENSIVE).
Believe it or not, despite two trips in the last week, I need to go to Target AGAIN--I tried picking up some of the tension curtain rods
bridget recommended, but because I have no spatial reasoning skills whatsoever, I failed to notice that they were about twice as wide as my windows. I think the way the blinds are set up, traditional curtain rods are really what I need anyway, so I need to make an exchange. Is anyone interested in transporting me there either tonight or Wednesday?
