This past weekend, Tao and I kidnapped our new niece (with her ma's permission, of course) and attempted to take care of her in a desperate bid to prove to ourselves that we could totally handle children. I'll admit to making fun of those tired moms who whined about not getting enough sleep or who would complain that a two month old was "such hard work." Pish posh on me. I was a nervous wreck all weekend taking care of my 5 week old niece....I kid you not, I would wake up and hold my finger up to her nose to make sure she was breathing. She must have thought I was some kind of insane nanny. Tao and I decided that she probably talked a lot like Stu in "Family Guy" and that she called me her "incompetent Peruvian charge." We had a great time together, though, and it was nice waking up having a small baby cuddling up to me and grasping my finger tightly. I totally cried like a dorkusby when she left.
