What the world needs now...

I'm always on the search for good music/musicians.

People always talk about how music is their life, but is it really? Are you a true fan of real music, or are you merely one of those idiots who listens to anything and everything on mainstream radio?

Since we are on the topic of mainstream radio, I am beginning to feel a certain disdain towards the mainstream music industry. It's just disheartening to observe how "pop" sensations are dominating the current music industry, with their catchy, overly-mixed sing-along tunes. What happened to pure, organic music and talented musicians who can produce good songs, or artistes who can actually sing?

Anyway, that's not my purpose for today. I'm writing this post, once again, to share some lovely musical discovery. Today, I'm sharing music by the beautiful Lizz Wright. She is an African American jazz singer and producer, and her genre of music falls under jazz/R&B/blues/soul.

I'm sharing her music because it's just so difficult to find people who actually knows how to appreciate such genre of music these days. People just want to hear catchy tunes they can sing along to, or even groove to, that the finesse of appreciating such sophisticated music is lost.

She has this amazing voice that's almost hardly heard of in singers these days. She reminds me a litle of Sade. The richness and tenor quality of her voice resonates well with the soulful melodies. Her songs are the kind of songs I would put on after a long week at work, while I have a drink, close my eyes and just lose myself in her voice.

Before I lose you with my wordy post, here are some of her songs. And just for good measure, I including one of Sade's songs, because I enjoyed listening to it.
