It feels like being squeezed- maybe you've become one of those cleaning clothes that your mum used to hung outside to dry, so worn out that the sun passed through them. You feel exactly like that, unnaturally thin. Your mouth won't open even though you're asking her to do so. Your eyes won't work, all that you see is white- white everywhere- your ears are filled with whistles and nothing more.
*
There's nothing- just oceans of silence. You wait patiently; somehow you're sure that's what you ought to do.
*
When the first sparkle of light manages to slip under your eyelids it hurts. It hurts and it's beautiful at the same time. Your lungs seem too small to breathe properly, but you can feel your chest rising and falling- the steady rhythm of your heart against your ribcage.
When you finally open your eyes you still can't see much but there's light and there are colors all around.
It feels like being born again.
