May 08, 2013 14:03

Hi everyone! I hope you like Part Two, which we posted yesterday evening. As I've said before, this project was a labor of love by a huge team. Over the next few weeks, I'll be posting about some of the less obvious heroes of the project. One largely unsung group are the guest editors. When the project was stuck because I had very little time to ( Read more... )

I know, I was so happy!!!!

God, post lj fandom is so unfamiliar to me--I don't know what's gonna 'hit' and what won't. I didn't expect that to be the post that did, but I'll take it!

The project has over 8000 views in total, now. Yay!

Omg tell me about it! I posted this very simply gif last week and it now has over 7000 notes. It's nothing special at all and yet I have posted things that I think will grab some attention and nada. I'm still very new to it all, but I am finally seeing its attraction.

And 8000 views is fantastic!! I am so thrilled it's getting the support it deserves. I think it will be really interesting after the last part has been posted - I think there's a lot waiting for the last instalment to watch it all at once.

Wow, 7000 notes for a gif! Just goes to show.

I like that it's easier for people to show support for something (I sure as hell have never gotten 1000 comments on anything!), but it's terrifying how easily things can be totally missed. That post had like 10 notes for most of yesterday, and I was really sad that people were not checking out Part Two. I was like, but...but...it's even better than part one, I swear! And then, BAM!

I know...crazy huh? And I'm pretty sure it's not the gif but the note I put with it. (the awwwww effect, I figure *shrugs*)

I reckon it's a snowball effect. it just takes a strategic couple of reblogs (from people who have a lot of followers) and it can take off.

I figure a reblog is like a rec. If I reblog something it's because I want anyone who follows me to see it. If I "like" it I recognise that it's great, but I'm not willing to share it. I suppose it's the easiest way to rec. Saves all the linking.

Sorry, I am totally thinking out loud here. Working it out in my head...

Yeah, basically once daunt reblogged with a comment, it took off like a rocket and hasn't slowed down. I will probably message her and superwiki and a few other tumblr famous people who I know like the project at the end to see if they will reblog with a comment. I don't love being that person, but realistically, there is just no other way to get the word out anymore. *shrug*
