*waves wildly* This thing still on?

Jan 19, 2012 21:15

Just so you know, I am still alive. In case you were wondering. In case you remember me. RL is still very busy and very annoying and very much not allowing me to do fun stuff online. And it has been that for such a long time now that I am actually afraid to check my LJ email address. And I haven't checked my flist (do we still call it that?) in ( Read more... )

Hi! *tacklehuggles* :D

What is new? We are playing Europapokal now. That is quite new. Me still being obsessed with football less so, I guess. ;)

I also developed a tiny obsession with Richard Armitage. So if you want me to pay you back for the RDJ weekend, I would be up to that now. ;)

Also in non fandomy news, I do have a niece now.

She is very adorable.

Nothing else has change for me and my life. Still boring. ;)

You're obsessed with football? What's the world coming too? I'm gone for a few months and all of a sudden... oh, wait. Never mind. Europapokal... uhm. Sounds impressive? :D?

I had to look up Richard Armitage. The name seems familiar but I don't remember him from anything. I've seem a few episodes of Spooks, but maybe not the right ones. Hm.

Your niece is very cute. <3

And I'd say that is quite a lot of change in your life, no?

That is impressive. Remember when I showed you that video with the three own goals in one match? That used to be my team. Now they bet Sevilla (the best team on paper of the lot, but apparently not good enough for unrated us ;p) in the qualifying round to the Euro League and then we survived the group stages and maybe we'll even go on further against Brugge, though half our players got injured over the winter break, which makes me sad. Yes. I know. You are highly interested and want to know all that. ;p ( ... )

...oh, sorry. Must have nodded off for a bit. I don't remember anything after 'three own goals'. That one rang a bell though. I'M pretty sure it's still in my bookmarks. :)

And okay, same job, same place, that does seem much like the same. But! Niece! That's definitely change. And a good one too.

Well, it was a very special match. If you have lost it, I can give you the link in case you'll need a good laugh. ;)

Most definitely a good change. And an adorable one. In case I hadn't mentioned. Still don't want one of my own, though. ;)

I actually couldn't find it anymore in my bookmarks. But it's so very easy to find on Youtube. Different versions actually. :D

And of course a niece is better than a kid of your own. It's kind of like the neighbours cat that visits me from time to time. Very nice, but would I ever want to have one of my own? Nooooo.

It's a record! :D

So obviously it is all over youtube and we should watch it and enjoy it as long as we still can. *clings to it*

Yes, exactly. When it gets complicated it is always nice to hand them back to their parents. Though I think I'd rather have a cat than a child.

Well, it's also one of the three out of a hundred YT videos that aren't blocked. Yet. *grumble*

And tomorrow there will be an added non-blocked clip about Neuer just totally fucking up and hopefully making Bayern lose to watch repeatedly to pick up your mood. ;)

*still laughing*

*still under the impression you actually care about footall enough to know what and whom she is talking about* ;p

That's... right. I AM very interested in, uh... football.

Clearly I'm doing something wrong here. *franticly looks for a way out of this football hell*

I will watch and tell you what I thought about though, if you link me when it shows up?

See? That is what I thought and why I keep telling you all those interesting facts.

*franticly looks for a way out of this football hell*

The only way out is through. Or defriending me might possibly stop me.

There is already a video up.

Don't ask me what they are saying exactly *bad at languages* but it is something along the lines of Neuer giving a really bad pass directly to Reus (who this winter announced he'd be going to Dortmund next season and not to Bayern, which caused the Bayern folks to try and distract and put pressure on Reus and Gladbach this past week, which obviously didn't work) after a return pass, which a goalie is not allowed to pick up.

I am still not over that. Also, by now Gladbach is in lead 3 to 1. Five minutes to play.

*keeps fingers crossed*

Okay (football whatever) WHERE did that happen? I mean, the commenter? Was that... it did sound Czech, like, accent-wise. But it also seemed to be Russian? Huh? Sorry, there was football stuff going on as well, I know. But even though I watched it three (!) times, I am not quite sure what's awesome about it? 'Why am I asking this, WHY? Don't encourage her, I always said, DO NOT encourage her, she'll just go on and...' Oh, heyyyy. Hi. Did I say that out loud?

It happened on the internet. Things on the internet happen in weird languages. I luckily got to watch that match in German, since it was on free tv (thank you ARD, now can I watch some more matches for the fees I pay?) but the person uploading it apparently watched somewhere on the internet. I sometimes watch matches in Arabic, since Hannover 96 matches are seldom "match of the day" or so that they are aired in German or English. The language is not important, cause the game is the same in every language and the commentators often are annoying anyway and have no clue what is going on, so not understanding them is sometimes helpful ( ... )

There are German football games that are aired in Arabic? Seriously? Huh.

And okay, I nodded off while reading most of your explanation (that's how good I am!), but I am familiar with schadenfreude of non-Bayern fans. It seems to be around everywhere. I wonder why that is. (Seriously, I do wonder. Not that I disapprove or anything like that. I just... wonder.)

I noticed. It's kind of unfair, you know? It's like I would make you watch ten RDJ interviews in a row or someth... oh. Never mind.

There are German football matches that are aired in Chinese and a lot of other languages, too. People from all over the world are interested in Bundesliga, as we have one of the more attractive leagues in the world. Which is great. :D

Over 200 countries have the right to air Bundesliga (though most only air the snippets with the highlights) and they usually use the German picture and have their own commentators do the comments so people understand what is said and if you watch live streams on the internet, sometimes you happen to catch a match in a languages you have never really heard before. It is actually fun. The Spanish call our player Schmiedebach Schmiedespaß. I love it. :D

I wonder why that is.It is mostly the arrogance and attitude of players, administrative and fans that cause these feelings to be blown out of proportion paired with the actual success the club has (probably increasing the jealousy factor, though I am perfectly happy to enjoy clubs that aren't mine win Championships, because I know that my club is small ( ... )
