Just so you know, I am still alive. In case you were wondering. In case you remember me. RL is still very busy and very annoying and very much not allowing me to do fun stuff online. And it has been that for such a long time now that I am actually afraid to check my LJ email address. And I haven't checked my flist (do we still call it that?) in

Over 200 countries have the right to air Bundesliga (though most only air the snippets with the highlights) and they usually use the German picture and have their own commentators do the comments so people understand what is said and if you watch live streams on the internet, sometimes you happen to catch a match in a languages you have never really heard before. It is actually fun. The Spanish call our player Schmiedebach Schmiedespaß. I love it. :D
I wonder why that is.
It is mostly the arrogance and attitude of players, administrative and fans that cause these feelings to be blown out of proportion paired with the actual success the club has (probably increasing the jealousy factor, though I am perfectly happy to enjoy clubs that aren't mine win Championships, because I know that my club is small and not made for the top five of the League and that is fine with me, else I would have become a Bayern fan ;p, but it is not like any of the other clubs win every other year, so that feeling might change if that were the case), which leads to media paying them more attention than the other clubs and gives them an outlet for those statements , so everything that is said is broadcast to the fans of other clubs, which strengthens the feeling that the Bayern people are arrogant and narcissistic, even if objectively seen, they are probably only a little worse than others based on the fact that they can be pretty sure not to relegate as long as the financial imbalance is as strong as it is and Bayern stays on top of that. But you don't look at football objectively. ;)
Also, people playing/working for FC Bayern are under a lot of pressure due to the extreme media attention so they are kind of forced to give statements every other day and of course you will have to say something that might help your own self esteem and maybe try and damage the other teams' self esteems. So it is not like they are actually worse humans working there. But the circumstances don't help make them look good to non Bayern fans.
And if they lose, the press is really unfair towards them. Like Neuer got a 6 (worst grade), even though he did some good saves and should have gotten something like a 3 alltogether maybe, but if you play in a team as strong as Bayern with all those superstars from all those countrie's national teams, you are expected to be much better and not make a single mistake. Especially not one that leads to a goal for the opponents.
But then again, you can't have the perks without the downsides and no one is forced to play/work there, so no reason to pity them. ;)
I could totally pay you back with Richard Armitage interviews, if you want. Not that that would stop me from talking about football. :D
